Karachi Events: Happening this Weekend (Aug 30th- Sept 1)

Being a resident of Karachi, you know there’s always an event happening that you can plan to attend with your friends. You also know that eventually all your friends will drop out and you will have to beg your mother to go with you (or is it just me?). Food festival, book fair, or fashion week, there will always be some event in Karachi organized that you can check out.

As August is coming to end (where did 2019 go) the last weekend has a few things to offer.

Creative Karachi:

The 3rd Creative Karachi Festival organised by T2F is a two day event where you can enjoy, art, music, food, movies and what not. It is a celebration of the vibrant life in Karachi, showcasing the raw talent in its different forms. A fantastic line up of visual artists, contemporary and traditional craftsmen, performers, writers, poets, dancers, film and documentary makers, qavvaals and musicians, comedians and storytellers and a unique outdoor eating experience with communal tables, food demos, and tastings has been set up and is waiting for you this weekend! I would suggest you wear comfortable shoes and keep a power bank on full charge!

Date: Friday 30th & Saturday 31st August 2019
Time: 02:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Venue: Alliance Française de Karachi
Entry Pass: Rs.500/- per day

Movies to watch:

The weekend is a time everyone wants to relax and enjoy. However since everyone (except me) is out and about, traffic is at its worst. If you are brave enough to venture out and are still unsure what to do, here is a list of movies playing this weekend that you can check out.

  • The Lion King: YES! Absolutely go watch it. If you like me has learnt all dialogues by heart from the original movie, it will be a fun way to annoy the people sitting around you. If you are a child who hasn’t seen the original, well I do not wish to speak to you.
  • Fast and the Furious: I am sorry, I am not a fan so I don’t know what number this sequel is. If you are a fan, you are in luck as this movie is currently playing in theaters
  • Once upon a time in Hollywood: Meh, I’ll wait for it to be available online.
  • Superstar and Paray Hut Love:  Gotta support the local talent. If you don’t mind the crowds, on Friday Nueplex Askari IV has a meet and greet with the cast of Superstar.
